The american drama HEROES season 3 has just started in this week.
Some Japanese people appear in HEROES. When I watch this drama from Japanese’s point of view, it’s interesting. One of Japanese in the drama is Hiro Nakamura.
He is Mashi-oka who is also Japanese in real life. He came to U.S when he was six-years old. His Japanese…that’s fine.
He has a Japanese friend in HEROES. His name is Ando.

His Japanese… really really weird!! His pronounciation is not native speaker’s one. Because he was born in Korea and came to U.S when he was ten-years old. He is Korean!!
The appearance of Japanese is similar to Korean. So I understand an American drama includes him as Japanease in the cast. However, I feel odd with his Japanese very much. I’m sure that all Japanease people who watch this drama would agree with me.
We can watch an office at which Hiro and Ando work in HEROES. In the story, there is the company in Tokyo. They partition the office by boards and make a space for each worker. In general, that way is not Japanease. It looks like one of American offices for me.
Hiro and Ando went to a bar in Tokyo. It featured Puffy’s song. The song was old one. It was about ten years ago. At the street, there were some fabric banner printed カラオケ(karaoke) and 居酒屋(Japanese style bar)…….(a epidode from Season 1)
That’s not true~~~~That’s not Japan!!
I think that American people don’t get suspicious about these things. I recomfirmed the difference among asian people is vague for American people. And also, foreign country in drama reflects images of producers.
